Melba Restaurant

It’s always a delight to dine at Melba. There is a bit of a rush of diners in the first 45 minutes which can impact on the promptness of beverage service by the staff. Whenever we aren’t in Melbourne we dine here - it’s a very pleasant experience.

Way to expensive for both adults and children. The new price rise is unjustified. We have been coming to the Langham for over 10 years and love their stay packages however today the food was good but not great and coffee and tea was hard to come by even when staff were reminded. Will definitely not be doing the breakfast experience again.

Apart from the seafood the other food is not very exciting,I don’t think it’s very good value for money,the wines are very pricey on top of it all,it’s not a good value for money.

Good impression but the food of sushi bar can be better

Ok... Food was nice... Can't justify waiting like cattle outside until ok to enter... No bar so that we could wait comfortably....chairs in restaurant are way to high for the table made it uncomfortable to eat.... Would not return again... For 120 a head you can go to an awesome restaurant and be seated straight away and have great wonderful table service... Pretty average actually

Did not have as much variety as I expected. For example the dumplings only one kind. The gnocchi pasta was not cooked well. Ambience was great though. Would be good to have more ice cream flavora

Our group come every year with our now 95 year Mother for her birthday. Peeled King Prawns? some at our table do not have the prawns as too hard to peel. The Peking Duck pancakes were not up to standard and very skimp on the filling. The Pork Belly was too fatty Chipped tea cup and dirty coffee cup, I don't expect this standard at the Langham. Overall everyone enjoyed the experience. Thank you

all sea food wasn't fresh, scared to eat oyster, crab doubted if it boild on the day? I felt not. watery, less taste, fresh crab has slightly sweet but it wasn't at all. sashimi was dry. I will not go there any more. not value as I paid.

Overall service and food were excellent! The restaurant did feel a little more crowded and noisy than the past few years we’ve been which detracted from the high class feel. Staff were very attentive and thoughtful and the food was great

The food was very good. It was a bit disappointing not to have hot seafood though. Lots of cold seafood.. the service was extremely slow for drinks. One of the ladies in our table waited over 30minutes for a champagne. We waited 25 minutes for a bottle of wine. I have been there in a weekday before Wednesday & it was fabulous. There was lobster 🦞 there that day which was fantastic. The service was brilliant so I was super excited to go back but I’ll definitely not go back on the weekend. It was also my birthday & there was another birthday next to us that got a cupcake with candles allowing friends to sing, however we did not get that. Not getting the cupcake wasn’t the biggest deal it’s just the lack of consistency in service that was disappointing.

Good to see oysters included with the sea food but many food labels were missing which made making food selection difficult - esp for those with food allergies In the past the soup has been delicious no matter what variety is was however the potato soup tasted like puréed glue ☹️ The table service was excellent as was the Asian and pasta stations

Above and beyond! Thank you for checking in, and exceeding expectations. The manager went out the back to get me creme brulee because he knew I loved it and it wasn't on display. My girlfriend loved it, going to make this a new tradition every birthday! Thank you for your kind hospitality. I can't wait for our next visit.

Food was excellent as usual. Views spectacular and service was flawless. We were celebrating our daughters 21st Birthday and remembered the atmosphere being more upmarket and I guess more of a “special” place to go. This time we felt it had a more relaxed vibe with no dress code and more of a “ drop in” feel of a normal restaurant. I’m not sure what has changed but we still love this place and we will be back.

Food was nice but the whole experience was very poor. Had table near one of the food stations, staff was very noisy, throwing glass in bins from meters away, noise was deafening. Asked the waitress to ask them to be more mindful, didn't make a difference. Same with chairs dragging on the floor. This is supposed to be a fine dining restaurant, where you pay top price .. it's not just about the food but the whole experience.

A perfect night out for a family group covering three generations.

Excellent in every respect except for the chocolate fountain. Our 9 grandchildren had been eagerly anticipating this treat but only white chocolate was available. Not world shattering, just a bit disappointing for each of the 9.

Very expensive for a buffet. An a la carte option or choice of different price points would have been better. The variety of food was fabulous, service was average.

oysters are really smelly. Not many choice of foods. Price is over if compare with the foods that have provided. Staffs are rude. Not recommended at all
