Vintage place, good service + good bartender +good food (exclusive some chicken needs improvements such as satay chicken and chicken bite).

Food was standard, nothing too amazing to want me coming back. Service wasn't the greatest, staff aren't observant on which table required service and always focused too much on the kitchen. Took so much effort to get someone's attention to ask for something. Had one particular staff member who was absolutely rude when serving us dessert, her attitude was uncalled for when she came to our table. Doubt I'll be back.

Pineapple fried rice was really nice. Tom Yam Soup is a bit localized lacking of authentic Thai taste.

We generally have always had a pleasant time at KITCHAI which is one of the reasons why we always returned. Tonight though you can tell the staff were under prepared for their bookings, walk ins and just general service. We had a booking and waited at the front prior to our booking time only to see the line was made up on walk ins waiting to get in. No one seemed to be managing or checking for reservations until we had to go to the front of the line and ask (we checked with those waiting in line if they had reservations or were walk ins first). After making ourselves known we had to wait maybe between 5mins for a table to be ready. Once seated with our menus I remember there was a promo on their instagram acct about a VDay cocktail that would be comp on the night which I knew I wanted to enquire about later. It didn’t take long for us to decide what to order having been here a few times before. I think we waited 15 minutes before I had to flag someone down to take our orders. I asked about the vday cocktail and asked if a mocktail version was available they said yes but was also told they were no longer serving the vday cocktails as they run out. All good I was happy to settle for a virgin Cosmo. Orders a placed and the wait staff advised me they could still do the comp mocktail so I said great I will have that instead. Some 15 - 20mins had passed and we noticed that tables that were seated around us had placed orders around the same time as us had received drinks and food already. We ask for an update on our order and the wait staff had to ask us who placed the order. They go away and check and not come back to us with an update. We had to ask a different person for an update on our order and they went away and came back with a docket that had our food ordered but not our drinks. We suspect our order was not put through at the time and was forgotten about. So we advise about the drinks and then maybe another 10mins later Alex gets his food, I eventually get food. Alex gets his wine. Still no mocktail for me. I keep getting told it’s coming. Next thing a virgin margarita shows up at the table with a second waitstaff coming closely behind saying this isn’t for us. Eventually the vday mocktail came and it was tasty. Although the food and drinks were nice the service experience really left a sour note on the whole night. No one seemed to be accountable or apologetic for the service. I really hope next time that the team have worked on their service when it is a busy dinner rush as I would like to return again one day.

Have been going to Kitchai for ages and this is the first time that they have messed up my order over 3 times this is on their end as despite telling them repeatedly of ingredients we do not prefer they repeatedly brought the same dish as they never fixed it or acknowledged or preferences. Overall, it was a bad experience despite it being a Monday.

Beautiful and tasty food, presented well. Lively set up and wuth an array of seating options that it may be worth asking about when you book. Ensure the difference between vegan and vegetarian is understood though.

The decor and food were very, very good. The service was poor... first 2 drinks were not in stock, the guys serving the drinks were slow. The waitress who took our order was a lot better. The older staff appeared more experienced but the younger male crew looked confused. Half of our plates were cleared but the other half forgotten and I had been waiting for that before ordering dessert. My partner was so frustrated that we didn’t even up staying for dessert and left. Try to give them the benefit of the doubt as they are still new and ironing out the kinks!

Understandable on the first day. Food service could've been better with better preparation to cater the high demands considering the full seating capacity indoor and outdoor. Seated almost 2hours and did not received all our entrees, take away order came out first, nicely inform staffs and leaders more than few times after waited for an hour to follow up our Entrees at the very least but never a person got back to update, patiently waited enjoying the atmosphere till being offerred a free bottle of wine, then continue waiting till another table of 10 has received and finished most of their foods (same entree orders), towards the end worst of all a lady at the cashier checked our order on the system and told us that our dine in foods has been cancelled. Friendly staffs, nice beverages, and good atmosphere.

The restaurant itself is really nice. The food is not the best. We ordered 4 dishes and 2 Thai Milk Tea. - Curry Puff : the skin are abit too thick - the curry not really hot aswell when it arrived at our table. - Thai Papaya Salad: no taste - all we can taste is the sourness. - Thai Fried Rice: not been mixed really well. - Tom Yum Soup w Egg Noodles and Seafood: it’s the best dish that we ordered. The flavours are balanced. - Thai Milk Tea: it doesn’t arrives after we asked the waitress to check on it 2-3 times. The taste is alright to us. Not too sweet aswell.
