The food was great! Cocktails were nice :) Highly recommended if you're going for quality food with reasonable price, especially love the Pho. Down side is too packed/crowded, not a good choice if you want to have a quiet meal.
We had Beautiful food and we thought the staff were friendly. The special was a long fish slider which was yum! It was a Great night.
Even with a booking we had to queue to get in here...just goes to show how popular this is in the neighbourhood! The food was excellent...de-constructed apple pie not to be missed.
Love the authentic flavours and friendly service! The team are always consistent in everything they do - that's why we keep returning and will keep returning
This was about my third visit so I obviously like it enough to go back! Food is generally pretty tasty and service good. Liked the special banh mi, wagyu in betel leaves but not that keen on fried prawns.
Love love cocktails coconut pancakes and pho....the deserts are spectacular!! Thank you for a fabulous evening with my friends, my kids goggles it all up too!!
Service was brilliant , the waitress was very good at explaining the menus and suggesting their signature dishes like the betal leaf, pumpkin pies and off course the pancake which added to the great experience
Great food and atmosphere, although a number of dishes (which we were planning to order!) were not available. Service was excellent. Planning to come back.
staff was helpful. atmosphere was good too. food wise, i dont see much that's outstanding, however we will definitely come back to try more. the slushie we tried with longan was a bit sweet for me, the poping candy was a good touch though.
Amazing food and fantastic friendly service. It's a great location for locals in marrickville. The food is super fresh and absolutely delicious. Go. Eat. Enjoy.
The food was delicious, the staff were delightful and knowledgeable. The service was slow however, when the meals came out they were worth the wait and the staff made you feel relaxed and didn't rush us. Would definitely recommend the wontons and Jasmin Tea pudding.
Great food as always- everything we ordered we enjoyed thoroughly (this time chicken wings, beef pho and make your own rice paper rolls). Service was slow at times - about 20 minutes to get water brought to the table when first seated despite asking.
We had a most pleasant lunch at Hello Aunty, the food was delicious and the staff was very friendly and caring. An experience, we'll probably very soon repeat. Can recommend the place to everybody.
Great food and excellent presentation at an affordable price! everything was beautiful and the attention to detail was amazing. I've been here three times and each time is better than the last!
Amazing food. Great service. Love the fit out and the tunes Stand out, the new dumplings and pork ribs. Always up for more auntie love!!
Food was excellent even if service was slow. Lots of flavour in the sauces on pork belly and in the bug bisque. Will definitely return.
It's my second time at Hello Auntie, customer service was great at the start - very attentive but as the restaurant got busy it was less attentive - we had to ask for the bill 3 times! Nonetheless, we still had an enjoyable night and food was delicious and interesting - Vietnamese with a modern twist! Recommend for anyone who enjoys Vietnamese!
Really enjoyed the food although it was a bit too much and some more guidance would have been handy. We had the special fish banh mi, duck banh xeo, tofu and truffle spring rolls and wagyu beef in betel leaves.
Absolutely delicious, friendly service and lovely setting. The menu had great variety and I loved the vegetarian and vegan options. Is slightly more pricey than others in the area, but quality is excellent.
Food was interesting and tasty. Better than the standard Vietnamese fare usually experienced. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Restaurant is surprisingly funky in an inner west hipster way. Overall a great experience and I will definitely return.
Excellent contemporary Vietnamese fusion food. Went there with a big family group for a special event. The atmosphere was great and the service outstanding. Make sure you try the longan rambutan vodka slushee!
Pho-nomenal taste. The food was all much better than any of the other nearby Vietnamese restaurants.
Good food, great service! I couldn't stop thinking about the meals the next day. Had 3 popular dishes and they certainly didn't disappoint. Fried chicken wings marinated in fermented tofu. Prawn picklets and cubed wagu with rice. Scrum Diddly Yumcious😋
Everything is amazing here all the time. Literally the best Vietnamese on that whole street I don't care what anyone else says. Best pho. Best service. Best drinks.
Good food, average service. Been a regular here but the place really struggles on a busy night .. Needs a little attention, otherwise all good
A lovely modern twist on Vietnamese food. We loved the choice of food and the wide vegetarian options available. The jasmine tea pudding was a great way to finish the meal.
Food is great, nice atmosphere and good service. The wangs dish could use a dipping sauce but otherwise food is A+, a great place for a night out in Marrickville
Exceptionally delicious as always. Would also recommend asking for the vegetarian menu in addition to the regular one because there were a few things on there that I hadn't tasted before!
Absolutely great food, lovely staff, great service. We would definitely go to Hello Auntie again. A little bit pricey but the food really is amazing.
Modern Viet food with standard offerings as well as modern variations. Vegetarian/vegan menu offered adaptations to some of their main menu items. The drinks menu is limited and expensive as there is only BYO option on Wednesdays. Only a few expensive wines but lots of choice in alcoholic slushies at under $20 each or $4.50 non-alcohol versions. Only 2 beers at just under $10. Service is great until it's time to pay up at the front like a cafe. Definitely not cafe prices though.
I have been several times to Hello Auntie in the past year. The food us always good, and the Wednesday night byo is great for us. We will return again!
Loved it. Best Banh Xeo I've had outside of Saigon. Great desserts. Creative, delicious food, yum!! Not too noisy on the Thursday night we were there, unlike so many restaurants in Sydney!
Love this place! Delicious food, great atmosphere and terrific service. We had an early Sunday night dinner with our three year old and the staff were very accommodating. We enjoyed every single dish we ordered - will definitely be back.
The food was delicious and the service was great. It had such a nice atmosphere and they didn't even seem to mind how long our table took. We really enjoyed the DIY rice paper rolls and even ordered double of the Hello Uncle and make sure try the pikelets! They are a must. I was a bit disappointed in the fact I was so full that I couldn't fit in dessert! I've had the Viet coffee cocktail and the matching dessert on a previous visit and it was phenomenal! I ordered it to share but ended up eating it all myself!
Great food, service excellent. Busy night so we were placed near the door to begin (cold) with but moved later on. Enjoyed every dish, just needed more spice but was supplied with fresh chillies and chilli sauce.
Very enjoyable. We all left full and happy!! Plenty of vegetarian choices and the staff were friendly and helpful. I will definitely be going back!
Great food. Great vibe. Great cocktails. Not like any other Vietnamese restaurant I've tried. Traditional Viet food, fused with a modern Australian twist. Must try.
We had another great time last night. The food is always delicious and the staff are extremely attentive. When we arrived we were sat at a high table with bar stools, which wasn't going to be comfortable for us. The wait staff were really accommodating and found us a regular table when we asked for one, but if a you prefer a regular table it would be worth adding it in your booking comments. Other than that, I can't fault our experience and will be back again soon.
Helpful, friendly attentive staff, tasty delicious food, great atmosphere. Table for two was a bit small but manageable by staff helping to take away things no longer required.
Excellent food. Separate vegetarian menu which is great. Our table was not quite ready when we arrived but staff sat us elsewhere so we could look at the menu until our table was clear which was fine for us. Restaurant was very full and busy but our meals came promptly. Staff were happy to explain different menu items and how to eat them. Will be coming back in a few weeks with a large group and am looking forward to it.
A 'second generation' Vietnamese restaurant. This 'new' generation uses mainly traditional Vietnamese ingredients (mixed in with a few luxury Western ingredients like foie gras and truffles) and cooking them using modern techniques, with the presentation of the food also giving it an opportunity to be Instagrammed. Fantastic.
Had the noodle dishes here, n it was so good we'll come back to try the others! Pretty fancy for a viet resto, loving the change.
Dishes were a bit pricey for Marrickville. The double cooked pork was terrible, dry and hard even with sauce. A little noisy for my taste.
In Marrickville we are spoiled for great Vietnamese restaurants so when a new supposedly extra special place called Hello Auntie opened up we thought we'd give it a go. To begin we tried to book on the weekend but were told we'd need to book at least a week in advance. Fair enough we thought it's a new place and seems to have created some what of a buzz in the neighbourhood. We ended up booking mid week, no dramas. It was a 6.30pm sitting and we were seated at a table less than a foot from a couple who were obviously on a first date. We could hear every word they said, I actually felt like joining in the chat as it felt like we were at the same table and they seemed like a cute couple. Our first dish came out and it was crispy skinned chicken. It was moist and the skin was deliciously crispy. The second dish came out about 30mins after we finished the first and was the duck pancake. Over all a pretty good version of what most of the other Vietnamese restaurants do, perhaps a hint doughy but over all ok. Last of all and after waiting another 30mins came the twice cooked pork belly. We we really excited about this one as a few reviews we'd had read really talked it up. My fist bite of a 1cm cube piece of pork nearly broke a tooth. The only crackling from this dish would be coming from my teeth shattering. To the wait staffs credit they offered us a free desert to compensate for the pork but by the time the offer came we just wanted to go home. Over all the service was excellent but the food was over priced, the cold bare brick, concrete floors and hard chairs , while good for Hipsters not ideal for the over 30's crowd.
Amazing food and staff. Second time there now and doesn't disappoint! Not cheap but in today's cost of living it's worth it! Would go back again and again!
The food was great as usual but the service was a bit slower than last time. The savoury pancakes are to die for but you really need a finger bowl or wet napkin to wipe your hands afterwards. Nonetheless, I'll definitely be going back!
Love this restaurant, they are great to cater for gluten free as i am coeliac and the service is also really good with staff knowing the menu very well
It was a very nice eating experience. The food was great and the service fantastic. My son has an egg allergy and the staff were very obliging in making sure that they advised us on what dishes had egg. We definitely will be going back for more. There are still a lot of dishes that we need to sample.
Fabulous food in the heard to the busy Marrickville strip. A good wine selection as well. The lighting wasn't great for reading a menu that is faintly printed. That's the only criticism of what is a terrific place. I hope to be back soon.
Super tasty food, great cocktails and smart wine list. Would have ordered more but the kitchen closes pretty early (9pm weekdays) so left a little hungry. Can't wait to get back there earlier to satisfy my taste buds.
