Geonbae - Frankston

The food was average and the service terrible but that was not the worst part. We were seated right by the door that went to the toilets which is literally a wind tunnel. Every time (which was at least 40 times during our meal) someone opened the door, a massive cold wind blew our table. Because not everybody bothered to close the door I had to repeatedly get up to close the door which added to the annoyance. After the meal when we went up to pay (because nobody asked us if we wanted the bill) we were initially charged $370 instead of the $150 we should have been charged. Luckily my husband noticed and it was corrected. Very disappointing experience when I was really hoping for much better.

excellent food and service ... fun night with the right crowd! Good selection of food and drinks! Try the beer paddle. And I bet there no man out there that won't try to touch the barbi tongs when the staff are not looking!

Great concept, friendly staff and we had so much fun. Food was fantastic. We went the banquet option and did every course was tasty. A good addition to the Frankston restaurant scene.

The service was terrific, the food delicious and plenty of it. We had the $45 pp BBQ banquet and could not fault it. So much food even got to take some home. I recommend anyone to dine there.

It's a restaurant with beautiful food and a lovely atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The BBQ tables are nice. The only thing I didn't like was that it is very noisy and because of it hard to talk to the people in your company. There are only hard surfaces and nothing absorbs the noise. Overall a great experience!

Excellent food serviced by friendly staff. We had the $35 Set course which included the BBQ, all very tasty. The MAX beer is worth a try. The location is great with easy parking.

What a unique and family fun experience. Loved the fresh food being cooked in front of us by the friendly staff with prompt drinks service.

Fun atmosphere, attentive staff, nice decor. Very happy with our meal. Limited choices on the menu, but very delicious. Extraction fans very efficient - and look good too.

Quick service, good quality food with sufficient serving sizes. Waiters were not the best listeners, i didnt get a drink i ordered and just gave up in the end.

The food there was AMMMMMAAAZZZZIIINGGGG. would recommend. We went there with our family on Australia day. One thing I probably didn't like was they had no knives.

Really well fitted out restaurant, beautiful deck area , can't wait for some warmer weather so we can sit outside eating the delicious Korean fried chicken, enjoying the view. Good service , great food , would recommend this place to everyone

Lovely evening, the staff were very friendly, service was efficient and great food. We had the BBQ menu and it was delicious and reasonably priced.

Unfortunately the noise level was intolerable and as such we would never return. I simply cannot understand how a Restaurant can be placed in a "space" with such bad acoustics - concrete floors/walls/ceilings - and with no "soft" furnishings (curtains) to absorb some of the sound. Also problem with pricing on the menu.

Went for dinner with a large group of friends and had an amazing night. As we were a party of 10 we opted for the set menu and the food was delicious and plentiful. Our waitress was friendly and explained all the dishes. Have already recommended Geonbae to friends.

This Restaurant is a hidden gem. The service was fantastic, the food cooked at our table on a bbq was fantastic. We will definitely come back again soon.

Food was delicious and the service great. The BBQs set into the table were clever and having the food cooked right in front of you added to the enjoyment.

We were seated right next to the kitchen and every time the door opened there was a gust of wind, same with the door to the service corridor to the toilets, it was a bit like sitting in a wind tunnel. The food was ok, I have had better Korean food, we were all disappointed with the japchae which is our favourite Korean food, as it was very salty. It didn't feel as authentic as I had hoped.

Lovely atmosphere. Parking easier than expected. Food was good. Staff were very welcoming and service was good. We sat in a booth which was great.

I booked online a couple of weeks ago. On the day, I had to change my time and number attending. The staff were very helpful and friendly. It was the first time all 5 people attending had been to the restaurant and, again, the staff were great explaining the food and menu. The food was great and all enjoyed the night. This was the best meal I have ever had on the peninsula. Great staff. The owner is lovely and the food is outstanding. It came out so quick. You will not be disappointed I can't wait to go back

We thoroughly enjoyed this new cooking /eating model. We had extremely friendly service. The Korean food was delicious. The decor was so interesting, clean and different. Cooking the food on our table was a hoot. We will be back! Cheers, Geonbae!!

Delicious! Great variety of meals on offer and very reasonable prices. We really enjoyed the Korean beer! Friendly and attentive staff. Really nice setting. We will be back again with the whole family.

The owner and front of house are warm and welcoming and the place has a great atmosphere. Food is top-notch - vegetarian pancake and whole chicken are highly recommended.

Food is really good! Service was good enough but it is quite expensive. I've been to many different korean bbq places and this is by far the most expensive.

Prompt and friendly service. One tough cut of meat but all other food delicious... star of Frankston food scene. Good wine list too. Yum Yum!

What a wonderful meal. Would definitely reccomend Geonbae. Staff were absolutely amazing. Great value although a little noisy. Will certainly be returning and taking guests with us.

The food and service was great. We had a set menu and enjoyed the whole experience. Also ordered sushi for a child (no kids menu) but would not order that again.

Experience was great, staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the location was terrific. Will be back. It has a great family atmosphere, and although I was just there with a friend, I would recommend it to anyone.

Excellent food. Fantastic service. We had never been before so we were guided by the waitress suggestion of buffet barbecue. Fantastic variety of meats and tastes. Something for everyone. Will definitely be back soon

Very disappointing. Had the bbq. First attempt, they burnt it. Second attempt, pork was raw. Hot plate was over-crowded and not hot enough. Staff was more concerned about the cooking time than whether the food was cooked properly. Paid full price. Never again.

Great food great staff great atmosphere recommend. We had the banquet for 2 and it a lot of food. We also got the honey mustard chicken it is great but was too much after the banquet.

Friendly staff, great choice on the menu. 3 of us shared Sweet Mahn Doo. 8 pcs. Croquettes 3. Then for main we had Beef Bulgogi, Pork scotch with wine and lemon, lime & bitters. Great atmosphere.
