We had the Feast from the set menu as we wanted to try a few dishes. Each dish was flavoursome and was more than enough to share between two people. Good atmosphere.

Delicious food & friendly service. Would highly recommend a visit…… with empty stomachs!

The food was wonderful and the service very good too. We didn’t have any wine because we thought it was expensive in comparison to the food which was great value.

My first dining experience, the service was great, the staff knew the food. Last night I felt rushed and the host was a bit too colourful for my liking, the food server I felt was just delivering the food.

We had the dhal, cabbage curry, hoppers, roti and sambol platter. The food was very good. Only disappointment was the watalappan dessert. It was much too sweet.

Warm and friendly manager and staff, amazing food (those beetroot fritters and the fish curry!) and drink (mai tai is a must), and really good atmosphere. I shall return for a third visit soon!

Food is delicious! The crab tacos are a must, as are the goat pan rolls. Good cocktail list. Service was friendly and efficient. Seating was comfortable and we could hear each other. Love the social mission. Colombo Social is a new fave!

Loved the look and feel of the place, cocktails were yum and food was flavoursome. The calamari entree had too much onion in it for my personal taste but aside from that it was great! Tunes on point as well :)

My husband is a very fussy eater from Colombo and he gave the food 5 stars - like his mama cooked. The food was absolutely fantastic and the service as well. Very friendly and professional service. Our only challenge was the noise factor which was tricky for us. We will definitely return on a quieter night and for takeaway. Highly recommend.

Venue and service were good but the food was just average. I had been wanting to go here for a while and was unfortunately very underwhelmed, the only highlight were the hoppers. There were 4 of us and we tried the banquet menu which should showcase the chefs but it was just average and even the hoppers were not included in the banquet menu and so were a seperate order. There are other Sri Lankan restaurants that are more authentic to Sri Lankan food.

Great concept. Great food - helping to train asylum seekers and migrants and paying it forward, donating meals to others. One of my favourites - especially the soft shell crab!

Colombo Social gave us amazing food, interesting variations on traditional Sri Lankan cuisine. The service was helpful and friendly. I love the fact that this restaurant supports asylum seekers. Highly recommended!

Food was rich and satisfying but was disappointed about the beetroot curry not available on the night despite being advertised on the website. Lovely ambience overall, and the service staff were attentive and pleasant to deal with. We especially enjoyed the nostalgic R&B tunes and delicious cocktails at the bar.

The flavour was amazing. It really tastes like a home cooked Sri Lankan meal with a twist. My sister and I loved our visit. The rolls were a little spicy but other than that thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

Amazing Sri Lankan food with a slight twist. Great atmosphere and amazing staff. Everyone is super friendly and the food keeps coming to you at a great pace (not too slow or too fast). Love it and will be taking friends and family next time. Finally an excellent Sri Lankan food joint in Newtown.

Exceptional service, delicious food and social distancing rules adhered to.

We really enjoyed the set menu, the soft shell crab taco was a stand out dish although it was all delicious. Due to the set menu everything came out quickly without being rushed. The decor created a great atmosphere and the service was friendly and prompt. Will definitely be back.
