It was ok. Was it up to the standards it holds itself to, no I wouldn’t say so. Nice meals but not something you would rave to friends about as a must go spot in the area. It would need to step up to be considered as a “fine” dining experience. Wait staff were lovely, but sloppy and food was nice, but wouldn’t put it far above a good cafe.
Stunning view, however not many options for vegetarians, good service
Spectacular view and incredible service. Then you have the food…every course was delicious!
Beautiful view, delicious food and great service. A lovely night out.
excellent service, fresh and very delicious scrumptious selection of dishes😊
Excellent restaurant. Fantastic food and very good service. The view is magnificent. Will definitely be back! Thanks for a great evening! 👍🏻👍🏻
Good overall. I/we loved the experience and as before, we will return.
My 99 yr old father and I enjoyed a special evening at Chris's Restaurant. I had called ahead as had special dietary needs and the Manager was so kind and accommodating. Such wonderful service, everyone was so lovely to us. Holding the door open for us upon arrival, seating us in a thoughtful position, friendly conversation. Dad loved his divine specials dish of garlic prawns in a delicious sauce and I eyed with envy the meals at the next table. Locally caught Blue eye Tuna and an amazing looking eye fillet. The view … oh that view…. We will be back!! Thankyou to all for making our night special
Great staff, amazing views and delicious food! Highly recommend! Thank you!
My husband and I loved our visit! We were seated near the window and had a fabulous view. Good food and service! A must do when visiting the Great Ocean Road.
An outstanding situation with fine views of the coast. It is a bit of a mission getting there - 12 minute drive from Apollo Bay. The service was excellent as was the food - but we were served stale buns at the start and they completely forgot our salad. This was a minor issue - we would go back.
Just a really great experience with a fantastic view and great food!
Wunderschöner Ort, hervorragendes Essen und super Service. Nur zu empfehlen
Food was exquisite and the views incredible. An absolutely wonderful night out with friends. The service was friendly, knowledgeable and professional ! A must visit - we will definitely be back.
The restaurant offers a tremendous view and high quality food. Our service was also top-notch. (Thanks for showing us the koala sleeping in the trees nearby.)
We had a fabulous meal and experience. Thank you all so much!
Fantastic view, great food, service and saw Australian including koala, kookaburra and kangaroo
Great food and great views add up to a great evening. This is the ideal spot for a romantic dinner for two or a place to meet up with friends - I just wish it was closer to home!
Atmosphere, service and views were all very, very good. Food was very good, though the lamb was not as successful as the prawns and fish (touch too tough). Assistance with choosing wines to pair with the meal was top notch.
Wow! Chris’s restaurant is stunning! The views are just incredible and the food and whole dining experience is wonderful! Such a special place to eat!
Beautiful food with an amazing view of the ocean and Apollo Bay
Stunning food and ambience with a spectacular view of the ocean. I have been coming to Chris' Beacon Point for over 10 years, and it never disappoints. I had a slow cooked lamb wrapped in file, delicious. My husband had the lamb rump, and both loved it. Desserts are to die for too.
We had a lovely evening and ate exceptional quality food.
Excellent food and service complimented by amazing views. Gluten free breads as option would be great
This was a fantastic restaurant in all aspekts; service, food, drinks and the view!! A bit pricy but so worth it🤩!!! Don’t miss a dinner here if you are in the area of Apollo Bay.
Fantastic view, excellent food. Everything is okay in this restaurant.
Totally recommend a visit to Chris's. Spectacular location, great food and service. Definite highlight in the Apollo Bay region.
Beautiful view and great food. Kookaburra looking in and waiting for the chef to bring out food was a nice touch
Amazing greek inspired food and wine selection. Top notch chef. Venue has incredible views and service is impeccable.
A wonderful experience all round. Delicious food, great service and a most beautiful setting. Would definitely come again. {Often if possible!}
Had a wonderful night. Delicious food, attentive, friendly service, with stunning views. Am grateful for the concern shown to me when I accidentally tripped over the step next to our table when we were about to leave the restaurant and landed heavily across on the table opposite. Many thanks to all the staff who rushed to help and check that I was ok. Just a small suggestion that the bottom step should be angled, rather than straight and that there should be a hand rail on the stairs to make them more obvious. It is a bit tricky to negotiate this from the table next to the stairs, especially when you have some mobility issues. Otherwise we had a great time again.
It is beautiful location, great service & a nice meal
We couldn’t really fault the food. The staff were welcoming and professional. The views were great and were weren’t left hungry after our 3-course meal
Food is amazing . View is amazing. Staff are amazing
Simply one of the best dining experiences along the Great Ocean Road. If you're a lover of seafood and fine food, then this establishment is a must for you. The staff are simply outstanding, never forget a face and make you feel completely relaxed as you soak up the equisite view and calm bush surroundings. Thank you, Chris's Restaurant.
Very much enjoyed our visit and the food at the restaurant.
Hugely enjoyed our evening at Chris's. We booked weeks in advance, and were led to the best table in the space - but all the others looked really good too. Great waiter in Ian, who introduced himself by offering to take a portrait of us at table and then guided us to superb choices of wine and dessert. We began with a simple entree of tarama dip and pitta bread to share. Very generous serving and the dip was complex and salted just right. Mains were the fish of the day - baked (IIRC) snapper - and chilli garlic prawns. The main ingredients were fresh and delicious and the flavours were good, but my companion and I felt that the kitchen was playing it very safe here - we would have liked more piquancy in the accompaniments for the fish and certainly a lot more chilli with the sauce for the prawns. Unexpectedly for a restaurant at this price level, both servings were very generous - we could easily have shared a single main and will likely do so when we return (our waiter advised that the kitchen would be delighted to serve us this way). We ordered a side of chips, which was completely unnecessary. The highlight from the kitchen was the dessert - advertised I think as a chocolate ensemble. It arrived with a multi-layered chocolate and brownie confection that was very rich, a scoop of cassis flavoured purple sorbet that was very sour, and a spoonful of heavy cream. The chocolate was magnificent, the sorbet forever surprising and refreshing, and the cream a delightful centering element for our palates. We worked our way bite by bite around the trio and again there was plenty for us to share. For wine we chose an excellent dry riesling from Bests at about $56 for the bottle - a hefty markup over what you'd pay in a bottle shop but the point is that the wine had been very well chosen and every mouthful enhanced the dishes we had ordered. The bill came to $192, and while the dining was excellent you can eat a little better for that sort of sum in Melbourne if you choose wisely. That's not the point though. Nowhere in Melbourne, no matter how much you pay, will you sit in an airy, multi-level room in what feels like mountain treetops, looking out through floor-to-ceiling glass across a forest canopy to the coastline of the Great Ocean Road, the ocean, and the far horizon. With a bonus: the acoustics and well spaced tables allow you to pursue in public a very private conversation, with little risk of being overheard. Add the excellent service - for example, the time allowed us from the serving of our entree to the serving of our mains was perfect - and you have the ingredients for a very memorable evening. Ours certainly was, and we'll be back.
Great enjoyable tasty views five six seven eight nine ten
Fantastic view looking out across todays Apollo Bay. Worth getting there to see the sunset. Great food.
Beautiful food, fantastic staff and beautiful view. 10 out of 10
If you are not staying in accommodation or ordering a full bottle of wine you’ll feel left out of attention. 20 year customer and standards have drifted as prices increased. Same menu. However, it is probably the best choice from surrounding cafes and restaurants.
Three of us had a very pleasant evening. It was a fabulous view.
Great service and great food. The dessert was amazingly good.
good view, good service and great food! We really enjoyed it!
Always stylish and welcoming. A gem of a restaurant. Fine food and wine list.
The place is amazing but portions of food are very small and we were hungry after we left😕
