Still a favourite when dining out. We dine out regularly and this has been a favourite choice. The only negative I experienced is that last night, the food was a tad salty.
This is a unique Chinese Restaurant (Hunan style cooking) . This is not your usual suburban type Chinese fare Australians are used to, but something totally different. As the restaurant name says it there is an leaning towards Chilli. There is also a sprinkling of "offal "receipes and if you dislike this type of food you can stay clear of it and still have a huge menu to pick from. The servings are big and the service business like and very prompt. The fact that the venue is frequented by all ages of Chinese people is a testement of its popularity/acceptance. Pricing is very good. The four of us shared three meat dishes with a bowl of Steamed rice each and we very very full. Our pricing was $66-00 all up. Will be visiting this venue again and again
Great tasting food however food was too oily. All the construction work that is going on in that area made it difficult to get to
Great food and service. Food is spicy, however, that is the authentic Hunan cuisine way! Staff were happy to cater for different levels of spice. Will definitely be back again.
Food was excellent derive was poor Forgot one of our dishes even tho we reminded them many times Need more staff. Great food poor service
The service was a little inconsistent. Had to go & get our own wine glasses. Disappointed that we were not able to get a noodle dish as it was not available on Friday. Food was very chilli dominant which was maybe more about our choices though. Only one ice bucket available.
It was absolutely fresh, spicy & delicious. Service was prompt & the decor was very clean, stylish & modern. Servings were large & excellent value.
The food was fantastic, the service less so. They didn't even have enough menus for the table. More importantly their website indicates that they're licensed - it shows 2 bottles of wine with prices by the bottle and by the glass. However, they're not licensed, and annoyingly we had to go on a long trek to find wine to have with our meal.
Food was exceptional. In fact best Chinese I have had so far in Perth. Huanese concept, so there is spice involved, but flavours were amazing. I will go back really soon for sure.
Very different Chinese restaurant experience. The food was great but do not go unless you are a fan of strong flavours and chilli. There are possibly 3 or 4 dishes that do not use chilli and of the rest even those marked with one chilli are very spicy
Great food, simple decor and a central location. The closest to Mainland Chinese food I've found in Perth. The staff were friendly but be prepared to push a little to get things rolling if they are busy.
Chilli Panda is definitely an appropriate name! If you're not a fan of chilli give this a miss. I however, love chilli! Fantastic tasting food. Great interior. Good service and not long to wait for the food. The only downsides were chicken dishes was meat on the bone, menu didn't explain this so one friend missed out on this dish. And we had to ask three times for the bill. Overall though a really good meal at a fair price.
Like Melbourne's Dainty Sichuan, the chilli dishes just kept coming and BYO too. Large servings of flavoursome meat and seafood dishes and fantastic fried rice and vegetables to compliment them.
Great venue, spacious and like no other Chinese Restaurant. Service was good, spices were fantastic, loving the chilli, little disappointed with the duck as it had too many bones but we will be back to taste further dishes,
Great food, excellent service, an awesome cheap and cheerful. I would be happier if the toilets were easier to get to, but that may be out of their control.
Food was great! Service was prompt and the staff were friendly. They have replaced the dish Mao's pork with another pork dish that was even more delicious.
Absolutely love Chilli Panda... the food is amazing and so reasonably priced , the service and restaurant design is great... have been 3 times already and look forward to going back
This is an wonderfully low-key and casual attitude inner city Asian restaurant that bangs out great food with big flavours and a relaxed vibe. The chilli content is for enthusiasts and if you're at all sensitive, ask them to dial it down a few notches, but those of us who love the zing, pop and crackle of high intensity chilli bombs attached to fresh, full-flavoured meats, vegetables and sauces will be in heaven. Try the beans (steamed, then flash-fried for a few seconds) for a mild but deep taste sensation. The pork belly doesn't just promise to melt in your mouth - it actually does! Service is friendly-casual but helpful without being intrusive. Take 3-4 friends to share a range of exotic dishes that will have you talking about this place for days.
Found the staff very friendly and efficient and the food was excellent. Was particularly impressed with the fried greenbeen/pork and chilli dish and Hunan dry beef and chilli. All ingredients were fresh, particularly enjoyed fresh chilli. Will definetly revisit as food is not typical of what is found in Chinese restuarants in Perth and this is authentic Hunan cooking
The staff were very friendly. Highly recommend the fried chilli beans, they were cooked to perfection and were very tasty. For those who enjoy lots of chili, the chilli beef with noodle/rice was full of flavour and worth a try.
Serves were huge and so we cancelled some food. The food was very good but we found the service a little slow. On the whole though, enjoyable and we will go again.
Great food and seating. But thought for an unlicensed restaurant to charge $6/bottle corkage was a bit much. Service slow to start but better once our order was taken.
Excellent food. Not your average chinese. Varied menu and a comfortable level of spiciness. Very busy and under staffed with staff rushing everywhere...but i guess that contributes to the fantastic value for money.
Really good. The food was absolutely flavoursome and delicious. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was modern and pleasant. Overall a great place to eat and we'll definitely return!
The food was delicious and good value as well. Atmosphere of the restaurant was modern and clean. Did not need a reservation on a Thursday night.
Yummy and great service... fresh beautiful food in cool interior... will take the family back for sure.. kids loved it particularly the Tso chicken dish... Great casual night out Thank you Chilli panda
