We love to have an opportunity to visit Cecconi's, we spent a lovely evening with two wonderful friends who had not visited your restaurant before, they loved everything about it, the food was fabulous, as always, the ambience was great, your wait staff were very attentive, thank you for a great evening.
We celebrated our wedding anniversary there this weekend and it was amazing. Cannot wait to return. The food was sensational. The staff were very helpful and attentive.
have booked there quite some times, still think it's very good. Our guests were quite happy. love the food and services. looking forward to book there next time.
Attentive service, great ambience and a very delicious dinner. Price wise is slightly on the higher side but well worth it if you are looking for a restaurant that is better than just good.
Good service, wine was averagely priced and the food was tasty but a little pricey for what it was. Overall a pleasant dinning experience however I would say slightly over priced in comparison to other Melb dinning experiences.
Food was ok. Nothing overly special. Dessert was definitely the standout. Tried to use multiple Good Food Guide vouchers and was told that they could only accept one as this was house policy and they are charged 15% of the bill by Good Food Guide. The whole debacle put a real dampener on the evening.
Service was friendly and efficient. The food was excellent. I went to dinner with a fussy Italian friend and she thought the food was excellent also.
Great night thanks to the staff! The food was excellent and the basement atmosphere was quintessentially Melbourne. Would recommend to any locals or visitors! Ciao
As always the service was first class and the food was full of flavour and delicious. The ambience of the dining room is enhanced by the open kitchen do you can see the great chef and the whole team
Great service, atmosphere and food. A little expensive. We had to leave to make a show and the staff went over and above to cancel our dessert order and fixed up our bill super fast. Looking forward to going back.
We had a beautiful meal and the service was really very good. A most enjoyable evening and will return next time we visit Melbourne. Many thanks
Great Restaurant and food. Easily rates a 1 hat Good food guide restaurant. The service was outstanding. Will definitely be back and be recommending to our friends/family.
Excellent ambiance and great professional service. Taste was delicious, however quantity for mains was somewhat insufficient. Superb selection of deserts and desert wines. Prices are slightly above average for the quantity of food, however it was a pleasant dining experience overall. Definitely recommend.
No sooner had we finished our entree, they took our dishes at the same time as placing down our main. Not even a few minutes between courses... I guess they needed the table, although we were in and out within the hour.
Wow. What a disappointment. One of my all time favourite restaurants and it was a disaster. I had the charcuterie platter for entree and the chicken terrine had a large sharp bone in it - which I discovered mid-mouthful. Worst still I told the waitress and waiter (manager?) who didn't even apologise - said they'd tell the chef, but I strongly doubt that happened as the kitchen is open plan and I didn't even see either go near it! My partner had truffle risotto - overcooked, lack of juice and dry. I asked for a glass of red wine and they served the wrong one. Hardly one hat worthy service! So sad to say, but this restaurant, once an amazing place, has gone off. Not sure if it Is the head chef's influence (has it been the same since he arrived?) or whether sevice and standards are lacking (no apology for a large chicken bone!!!) but I won't be back in a hurry, and I would recommend people book elsewhere!
Food was good. Service was good. Atmosphere was nice. If I had to nitpick then I would say waiters needs to slow down a bit when taking away dishes and also naming the dish when putting it on the table. Not just slap it on the table and walk away.
Lovely restaurant, food great but they lost our mains order, which meant long wait between entree and main Also they brought the wrong wine to the table. No offer of any compensation for mistakes. As we had ordered wine by the glass the offer of a glass of wine each; on the the house while we continued to wait for mains after being informed our order had been lost would have been appreciated
Great service, nice traditional Italian vibe ,good food, with good sized portions. If you want proper Italian experience as good as any.Very accommodating to my young daughter.
Very nice meal, the Calamari was yummy and wait staff were attentive. Nice ambience also. Thank you too for acknowledging our anniversary. I would recommend Cecconi's for a fine dining experience.
Great food and fantastic service. Well worth the visit, make sure you book well in advance. The food and staff are authentic Italian and I recommend booking.
Perfect night!! Absolutely loved everything about Cecconi's food, presentation and service. Our host for the night was so helpful in making menu choices and making sure that we were enjoying ourselves , extremely attentative.
I had a lovely time catching up with a friend for a birthday celebration. The food was delicious and the restaurant had an elegant but relaxed atmosphere. We had an early sitting and they were very accomodating to not rush us out the door on my special evening. Thank you Cecconi's for the great experience, I will definitely be back!
Fantastic food. Fantastic service. Lovely setting. I had the quail and seafood linguini and my fiancé had the quail and rabbit gnocchi. All of it was amazingly cooked. The quil was delightful, rabbit is usually hard to cook, but this one just fell apart in your mouth. The linguini was cooked to perfection. And dessert just topped everything off nicely.
We had a wonderful meal and experience at Cecconi's. The food was fantastic and wait staff even better. Lively atmosphere but not so loud so as to not be able to carry on a conversation.
Food is great, and so is service. We really enjoy the time there. The lamb shoulder is a plus, and pasta is fanastic. Will definitely come back again.
Enjoyed a beautiful night at Cecconi's. The Capaccio was one of the best I've had, and the Gnocchi with Duck ragu & Spaghettini with Morton Bay Bugs were equally sublime... Along with the 2009 bottle of Brunello we washed it down with.
Visited Cecconis many times.High standards always maintained.Food on the little expensive but always good.so I guess you get what you pay for.Excellent wine list at ridiculous prices.
Wonderful night at Cecconi's: great food, great service and good atmosphere. We shared 3 entrees, calamari, beef carpaccio and seared tuna, and than as main course we had pork fillet and barramundi fillet. All delicious, but I have to say that the tuna and the pork with chestnuts puree were absolutely spot on!
Great food and wonderfull pleasant staff and service, environment was warm and inviting. Reasonably priced for the quality. Very heavy front door and quite breezey if you are sitting near it when someone enters.
The food was fantastic and the restaurant had a great atmosphere. The service was very good and I would highly recommend for a great Italian dining experience.
It was my birthday celebration and I chose Cecconi's because I had heard good reviews about it. I am pleased to say that our dining experience was excellent and most importantly everyone of us concurred that the meals were most enjoyable. We left the restaurant feeling satisfied and happy. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for good food, good wine and services.
AMAZING food, service and atmosphere. Will return very soon. Highly recommend the scallops for entrée and the veal for main. HAVE to try the chocolate martini too.
Food was amazing and our waiter was so friendly and helpful. The cocktails were Devine. A must try if visiting melbourne. Cant wait to go back
My wife and I dined here on Friday 18/11. After a slow start (wanted to order a beer but couldn't catch the eye of staff) wait staff were quite good. Friendly, patient and appeared knowledgeable about the food and wine. I had the soup of the day which was duck consommé with veal and port tortellini. Beautiful consommé and tasty pasta. My wife had the scallops which were beautifully cooked and presented - she tells me they were good but didn't offer me one! For mains I had the lamb which was very good. Lamb was done two ways, braised and oven roasted (looked like back strap). Very tasty. My wife had the rib eye which was cooked as ordered (Medium Rare), tender and tasty. She was happy. We both had the dessert tasting plates to finish. They were very good, consisting of some poached fruit with quenelle of gelati, a coffee cup with foam and mousse with a milk icecream and a piece of olive cake. Overall we were happy and would go again. Not a cheap night but you know that already.
We arrived early as we couldn't find a cocktail bar before hand. Went to the bar at cecconis, had to stand at the bar waiting for our drinks for about 8 minutes. We sat outside waiting for our table. Our waitress appeared to have been getting 'told off' by the head waitress before she came to our table, which seemed to put her in a rushed, somewhat annoyed mood. The service seemed rushed and as if we were an inconvenience. The food was delicious but the service left a sour taste in my mouth. No pun intended. At the end of the night we were contemplating dessert, I said to my wife if the waitress comes over soon we'll get dessert otherwise we will be waiting all night. Suffice to say, she was no where to be seen so we asked for the bill. After we had paid and had been siting for a good 5 minutes getting ready to leave the waitress finally came up asking if we wanted dessert.... We did about 20 mins ago love. Great restaurant with exceptional food. Was let down a bit by the waitress/ service.
Being close to Christmas, the restaurant was very full so conversation was very difficult. The service was good, the food was good although my veal was slightly over cooked, the squid was very good.
Our experience at Cecconi's Flinders Lane was exceptional. Professional and friendly service; food was tastefully presented and full of flavour; ambience was intimate and un-intrusive.
First time here and the food was amazing. Flavours were fantastic. Service was excellent and professional. Celebrated my partners birthday and was provided with a cute little birthday plate at the end of the night.
The restaurant was great. Food was very good. The services was okay but the staff needed to be more attentive. Overall good experience. Would recommend to friends
Great restaurant serving delicious food at reasonable prices for a high quality restaurant. Better than Vu Du Monde in my opinion both in the quality of the food and value for money. Cosimo our waiter was fantastic and knowledgeable. A great experience! Elio
Amazing Italian food and the service was impeccable! There were so many delicious choices on the menu it was hard to decide but everything we had was amazing! The prawn risotto was a stand out! Thank you!
The service was attentive without being intrusive. Food was presented well and tasted delicious. We were celebrating a special birthday and the staff made it a very special celebration for us. We always feel special at Cecconi's.
Perfect evening A1 service awesome food extensive and varied menu. The ambience and lighting sets a certain mood, great atmosphere, spacious setting, Fine dining at it's finest
Consistently great food and service in a lovely venue. Cecconi has maintained such a high standard over the years that we are never disappointed, a must for all diners!
I havent been to Cecconis for a long time and was trilled the service amazing and food sensational, fantastic wine list. Looking forward to going back soon
The restaurant was lovely and the food excellent. My guests were particularly impressed as they had not been there before. Try the chocolate cherry ganach, it was lovely.
I always enjoy coming here, the food was delicious and service was friendly. I always find it frustrating though that if you don't put water, or even the sparkling water that you pay for, at the table then I would expect the waiters to be checking to refill all the time! I also felt that the coffee was very slow to come out. A few little improvements but overall good.
Great food, service and atmosphere. Loved everything single thing about it. We had three courses, a G&T nad a glass of wine and coffee. True indulgence.
Delicious food. Dessert was amazing. Service is excellent. A very pleasurable experience. When we booked we had told them it was our anniversary and they sent out some delicious truffles saying 'happy anniversary', which was a lovely touch.
Beautiful food, beautiful setting and efficient but some of the wait staff could be friendlier- they were just about the business. Overall we had a great time and we would come back.
