Cecconi's Flinders Lane

Booked lunch for 2 for my 60th Birthday last week. Waiter was entertaining and kept our glasses topped up without being in the way. The Duck Tortellini with pate was terrific as was the seared scallops for entrée. My wife enjoyed her Baccala couchette's and seafood Linguini. My wife had a third course being the chocolate pudding with soft warm sauce inside. They gave me a plate signed with a chocolate happy birthday and some fudge with a candle...nice touch actually. Cecconi's is always a wonderful restaurant. I have dined here many times and I have never been disappointed. Delicious, superbly prepared food, excellent service and a great ambiance.

Food was below average and service was abrupt. Pasta not aldente but undercooked, over salted and steak was dry and overdone. Wine list was cheap and uninspired. It was a very disappointing experience. I expected much more for a restaurant that consistently receives awards. There are so many better places to eat in Melbourne. I will not come back again.

Impeccable service, beautiful ambience, and stunning food. We took our 14 yo for a food experience and the staff were magnificent with him, explaining dishes and making recommendations. White chocolate parfait, if it's on the menu in future, do not hesitate to get it...divine! The passionfruit meringue wafers in it were to die for.

A classic Melbourne institution did not disappoint - the setting, food, staff and wine were all fantastic. I opted for the Morton Bug Spaghettini for starters and then opted for the Grain fed Scotch Fillet which was beautifully cooked (rare) with a fantastic rich smokey crust - magnificent!

A great special occasion restaurant. Waiters helpful and food all delicious! We had antipasto, entrees, main & dessert and it was about $150 a head for food.

I'm a semi regular here and regard Cecconis one of this towns finest dining outings. Service always attentive. Food wise? Authentic allowing key ingredients to speak for themselves.

The Staff were lovely and friendly and made the effort to make our evening enjoyable. The food was really great and the perfect way to celebrate a special occasion.

Great food . Great service . Great overall experience. Nothing to fault . No wonder they were bustling on a cold Wednesday night. Not a cheap night but well worth cost.

Absolutely delicious dinner, beautiful service, excellent decor. My favourite was the pappardelle with beef ragu as well as the chocolate pudding. Highly recommended for your next celebration.

We thoroughly enjoyed my family birthday dinner at Cecconis. Out table was in a marvellous spot - a round table for 6, in the corner (especially good for the 2 'senior' members of our party who do not hear so well. Attentive and unobtrusive service and excellent food and wine. Well done Cecconis!

A warm welcome followed by superb service and great meals. This was one of those rare occasions where the waiters anticipated our every need. A superb night completed with an equally warm goodbye.

Cecconi's presents beautifully cooked food, with great ambience and attentive service. All aspects of this restaurant are easy to enjoy. They will always go out their way to make this a place which you will want to go back to time and time again.

The last time we ate at Cecconi's was when it was located at The Crown Casino. We won't wait as long in the future.Excellent food,excellent service.Overall experience was very good and memorable.Will definitely recommend the restaurant to my family and friends.

Pasta could have had more flavour, we were a little disappointed with the dishes. Apart from that, the ambiance of the restaurant was beautiful :)

My favourite Italian in Melbourne! Classy interior, great service, and the best chocolate fondant in town. My favourite dish is the pappardelle ragu- get the chips on the side!

GREAT FOOD AND GREAT SERVICE. NICE ENVIROMENT. We had scallops, barramundi and duck along with a delicious desert. Well worth trying when you are visiting Melbourne

The food was absolutly delicious. We were positioned near the door and there was constant cold draught. The wait service was a slow - and they forgot to bring a drink pre lunch and coffee and brought the wrong wine.

The space was beautiful. Food was delicious, could not fault. Service was good however very large groups took most attention away from checking in on smaller tables.

The cuisine atmosphere and service were wonderful. The restaurant was very busy but we were made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble.

It's quite a few years since dinning at Cecconi's(no excuse) having originally started dinning with Olympia when her restaurant was located in St. Kilda. Nothings changed in all that time -- still great. Always good to meet up with Anna again.

The food, wine and room was delicious but service was disjointed. Our entrees arrived about 5 minutes after ordering them which was disappointing and we had to ask them not to bring the mains as quickly. Dessert also came very fast and had clearly been pre made (down to the gelato quenelles). Timing/flow needs to be perfect when your mains are $50. An expensive bottle of wine was also poured out far too regularly as well. Wanted to love it but didn't!

Loved it. Food and service was amazing. Unobtrusive staff made sure we had everything we needed without interrupting the flow of conversation at all. Food was second to none. Amazing fresh pasta. All of my guests commented on both food and service similarly. Highly recommend.

The food and service was excellent. Also the restaurant has a good pace when serving its customers, which makes doing business there easy. We will go back again.

The service was excellent, food was lovely, menu was not as extensive as I would have thought but overall it was a great experience and I will go back again.

To be honest, I expected more for the money we spent. The food quality was variable. The slow cooked rabbit saddle was excellent, however my wife's Salmon was over cooked. Similarly the deserts and drinks were of mixed quality. Our sparkling wine was excellent, but our Tuscan Red was full of sediment and not really what you would expect from a $120 bottle of wine. Overall our experience was good, but not great. I would expect more when spending $150 per head for a three course meal.

We had to quickly eat due to a booking for a play at 7:30, and the waitstaff & kitchen staff were so warm and accommodating.

Cecconi's is certainly a classy restaurant serving good Italian dishes! A personal favourite was their wild mushroom risotto which was a special on the day.

Food and service was great, overall cost of food was quite expensive. I really enjoyed the goat special main course, and the seafood linguini. Although $49 for a main course was quite steep.

Very nice 2nd time we have been when in Melbourne....clean modern and friendly professional service. Food was unbelievable....I came with my son this time and he was impressed as well

Great service and good food. It was a busy night so the atmosphere was great and we had a lovely waiter who had a beautiful Italian accent that made it all the more a romantic experience for us.
