Bistro Cocotte

Bistro cocotte always has wonderful service and exceptional food, I would recommend this fine find to whoever wishes to enjoy authentic French food in Sydney.

Just a wonderful relaxing French Restaurant. We will go again.

Food is comforting and lovely. Staff friendly if not overly engaging. We had an 8.30 table, told at 9.30 kitchen goes home at 9 so we couldn’t order from the dessert menu. They did allow us a crème brûlée in the end. Would have been nice to know in advance.

A true to form unpretentious French Bistro. Very warm and friendly staff. My partner and I shared the chateaubriand which was delicious. Cannot wait to return.

Prices are too high. Food is OK but portions are far too small. Not value for money.

Simple, non gimmicky solidly good food and very reasonably priced. Service was professional yet very friendly. I took my friend here for lunch to celebrate her 70th birthday and she absolutely LOVED it so that made me very happy. My friend raved about the baguette and that’s saying something because she’s French!!

Love this little French gem. The food here is amazing, such good quality and taste. The eye fillet is one of the best I’ve ever had, so tender and delicious. The sauces are full of flavour. The waiter is lovely and always very friendly.

We dined on prix de plat menu which was very varied and great choices.

My friend and I each had three courses. All of mine were excellent - scallops for the entree, beef bourgignon as the main, and crème brûlée for dessert. My friend had half a dozen oysters for the entree, a “special” wagyu beef steak dish as the main, and an apple tart for dessert. My friend was very disappointed by the wagyu steak - which was pretty expensive at $65 - but enjoyed his other two courses. All of the wait staff were excellent - prompt, professional, attentive and friendly.

Lovely atmosphere, service, and staff and the food was great.

We had a lovely Valentines meal with tasty cuisine served quickly and with pleasant staff. We've been here before and will return - we miss their cafe that used to be at Ryde which was lovely too.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff, enjoyable meals esp entre and mains and pleasant atmosphere.

We went in a group of 4 for my son's birthday. It was a quiet evening with only a few tables booked, but this was a bonus as our waitress was attentive, our meals came quickly and were at the perfect temperature. The menu had many options (seafood, vegetarian and meat options). The food was well presented and authentic. We were even treated to a free entree of escargots-a nice bonus. Also, they have a fantastic variety of drinks and wines to pair with the food. Overall it was an excellent evening. We will definitely dine there again!

Great French Bistro food, friendly service and a good selection of French and Australian wines. The salmon cocotte, duck confit, barramundi and tarte tartin were all terrific and all 6 of us went home happy from the experience. C&C

Luckily it wasn't too noisy because I found my friend seemed a long way away across a somewhat large table for two. However plenty of room to put the food on the table. Excellent service and they were very willing to accomodate my food intolerances. I think they should offer a complete meal including for example potatoes with the main meal, rather than having to order an extra. It was a modest helping of fish but delicious. The food was very nice.

We really enjoy our visits to the Bistro. The folks working there are lovely and look after us very well. This time we tried different things. The Camembert fondue and scallops were super tasty. And I really enjoyed the beef bourguinon for my main.

Great food and great service for Father’s Day. Always worth having food that you wouldn’t have at home! Salmon cocotte and black mussels in blue cheese sauce - excellent. All 3 dessert options hit the spot. Best Fathers Day outing in a long time!
