My favourite Thai restaurant in Sydney! The meal was so delicious - just love the combination of flavours. Only disappointing thing was when my husband went to pay the bill with credit card the girl added a $15 tip of her own accord to the total for him before entering his PIN - luckily he caught this and questioned her and she took it off! Not saying we were not going to tip but we were certainly not going to be told how much. I would definitely go back again though as the food is delicious and the ambience is wonderful - feel like you’re eating in a fancy restaurant!
Michael is a gracious host along with his staff. The specials are innovative and exciting.
Service was good, presentation excellent, food tasty. Noisy groups around.
It was great with good food and loved it heaps.
The food is so delicious and the service spot on. My friends and I have been going to Bai Yok every 3 months for about 15 years and we feel there is not reason to change venues.
We had a lovely night for a family birthday group and used the $45 banquet. We’ve had a number of family birthday dinners ther over the years - all very good.
Consistently great food service and atmosphere , one of the best restaurants on the lower north shore Always a great experience be heading back again very soon Peter
As always food and service of a very high quality. Always nice to see the same staff year on year. The restaurant/chef always very accommodating and happy to adjust things. BYO is a wonderful bonus !
Great food, a delightful depth to flavours. Reasonably priced. Good wine reasonably priced too. Not too casual. Not too formal. Just right. A lovely evening.
Mixed entree plate x3 ....dry and three of the four components seemed to have been precooked and were only just warm. Two main courses ...stir fry beef with garlic served with very little sauce, beef tender and plenty of vegetables, but also not hot. The special of the day a better dish...seafood curry.A small serve but tasty. As one of the three diners eats only a tablespoon of rice, asked for rice for two but told we all had to have rice. Certainly not an experience I would repeat as quite expensive for Thai and a let down after all the glowing reviews I had read. Staff perfunctory and plentiful and attentive with supplying water. Maybe the owners are shifting their focus to handbags as when you click on the website link to see the menu you go to baiyok handbags.
Prawns with coconut was disappointing. Fish with crackling was ok. Size of mains was small. Vegetarian spring rolls were tasty. Betel leaf scallop delicious. Busy restaurant.
Great food, service and environment. Lots of local families present and management and staff very welcoming. Can recommend as the best Thai restaurant for mikes around.
Great local Thai restaurant. Excellent food, lovely atmosphere and great service. Would highly recommend to family and friends. The menu has weekly chef specials which keep you coming back
Michael is wonderful friendly host. The Mieng Scallops and Crystal Prawns are fabulous . Modern decor and excellent staff. Should be mentioned in the Good Food Guide.
Food is amazing wonderful traditional Thai flavours. Terrific all round staff & atmosphere. So easy being away from the very busy, hard to park places of lower northside. All Good.
Bai Yok Modern Thai Cuisine restaurant at Castle Crag is our favourite restaurant. We have been going there every 3 months for about 15 years. The food is delicious and the specials are so good. The restaurant is very clean and the service excellent. It is not like your average Thai Restaurant.
Delicious Thai food. Every course we had was perfect. The staff are super efficient. We've been coming to this restaurant for many years and have never had a bad experience. Highly recommended.
Fabulous local Thai restaurant in Castlecrag with wonderful staff and great food. Michael, the owner is always adding new exciting specials which keep us coming back regularly.
Great food, great ambiance and fabulous staff! Bai Yok never fails to disappoint, consistently fresh produce with an innovative menu. Look out for the specials. Thai food at it’s best. Would highly recommend!
We've been going to Bai Yok in Castle Crag for many years and the food is always consistently delicious. Many of their dishes are vegan friendly, absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. Bai Yok is one of our favourite local restaurants.
We love this restaurant! Michael is a wonderful host. The food is fresh, delicious and the quantities generous. Roti Duck is my favourite and Coco Prawns is my husband’s.
Really lovely veg Bai Yok stir fry. Very fresh and tasty. Waitresses need training in table service etiquette. If someone is still eating, you never clear the plates before the other person is finished!!!!
Excellent food chosen from an extensive menu. We enjoyed the seafood special and the prawn curry. Service was very good and the atmosphere of the restaurant is very pleasant
We have been enjoying dining with Michael for 28 years. Bai Yok continues to be the best Thai restaurant in Sydney and Michael continues to be the best host. Leonard&Trisha
We love Bai Yok Restaurant at Castle Crag. We have been going to Bai Yok for about 15 years. We meet every 3 months and have tried elsewhere but always come back. The food is delicious.. There are certain things we always have but the specials are really good. The staff are all very polite and attentive and we are not kept waiting. We love it.
My second visit in three weeks to see if the standard here was consistent. It was! Pleasant atmosphere, attentive happy staff, excellent food from an interesting and diverse menu.
Fabulous evening once again at Bai Yok! Great atmosphere, friendly and efficient service and excellent inventive food, my favourite Thai restaurant never disappoints. We will be back soon. Thankyou.
Never been to the restaurant previously. Was totally surprised. Great food, lovely ambiance and a warm and cosy atmosphere. Will certainly go again. All in all a lovely night.
It was a very busy night we however we received prompt and friendly service. The food was excellent, tasty and served according to our requests. Very efficient and reasonable.
A constantly good restaurant with unusual and very tasty Thai dishes. Being a BYO restaurant certainly adds to its attraction. Service is extremely friendly and efficient. I thoroughly recommend Bai Yok.
When we arrived, the staff immediately greeted us and recognised the booking. We found the restaurant was warm and inviting on a cold night, the menu was varied and interesting, and the food was amazing. Definitely will return.
We've been going to Bai Yok for many years and their food is consistently good. Flavours are authentic, food is fresh and delicious - never had a disappointing meal there yet.

Excellent food from this well established Thai restaurant. Staff always friendly. Owner always say Helo once he knows you. The crackling fish special is always a got to dish. Never lets you down
The restaurant is local so that is excellent - a neighbourhood gem. Food is always very tasty and the service is great so enjoying a night out with friends is always a success at this restaurant.
Fab food really delicious, good variety and relatively good choice of gluten free items for one of our friends. Service was a little lax. It was really busy when we first came in and for first while its a as if we didn’t exist. it was slow to pick up. Luckily all the gorgeous food still made for a good night. Would recommend and will return.
Good meme. Very nice food. Great service. I recommend the roti duck and the pad thai was also great. Good atmosphere and vibe. Very nice
Awesome in every respect. A shining star on the lower north shore. Quality food - the crystal prawn starter a must! Service is amazing. A great spot for every occasion.
A taste sensation!! We especially loved the duck curry and the scallops in the betel leaf wrap. Great service and atmosphere. Will definitely go again
Reliably great food and service. We love the scallops and the duck roti. Our daughter MUST Have the garlic quail. Worth the drive from Killara.
Great inspiring Thai food and wonderful friendly service , never disappoints. Always my go to Thai to take guests for an enjoyable and delicious evening
Food was excellent and banquet for 7 people was ideal. Staff were very friendly and overall atmosphere was really nice. Will definitely go back soon.
Food is always fabulous here. Fresh and delicious. The service is also good. There was a large party at ten restaurant but it didn’t prevent us from having food service.
Food is good but a couple of dishes weren’t as good as in past . Eg the beef dish we’d ordered well done which we have in past also though it came out rare and so we had to send back and then was not nice
Well located with parking available. Great food - catered for most palates. Pleasant atmosphere and couldn’t fault the service. Would recommend. Will be coming back!
great place and this app made it easy to book and confirm. changes to no of ppl were easily made as well. will use this app again
Once again we enjoyed a beautiful meal at the Bai Yok. We have been dining there for over 10 years, and it remains our favourite Thai restaurant in Sydney!
This restaurant never disappoints, always great food and sensational warm service. Choice of seating indoors or outdoors which is nice. Parking is also very easy.
Experienced waiters who are always gracious. Carefully prepared delicious food. The specials are always worth trying as the chef has obviously put careful thought into offering a new and exciting experience.
We enjoyed our food, but when the bill came you charged an extra $8 for one extra prawn on the entree, which had 3 prawns. We asked for the extra one as we were sharing the entree. Not impressed and it left us with a good feeling. A small charge would have been OK, but $8!
