Very overpriced Peppa pig high tea...poor rushed service overall. Disappointing
I was quite disappointed. The service was slow and the food didn’t match the menu. I expected more for the price.
Service was slow and inattentive. Harpist voice was too loud and we struggled to hear conversation. Quality and choice of food was very good.
I went for their standard High tea package for my 30th Bday. The ambiance was beautiful, polite friendly staff, however they seemed bit under the pump, perhaps short staffed. Food was great, we couldn’t finish ours. Would recommend it for sure.
The older lady serving us seemed fed up with everyone, not a smile to be seen wasn’t nice or friendly to anyone even the kids. Extremely disappointed with the bad service and experience given the price of the tea set, that it’s at Langham hotel, And given it was catering to kids. Did not feel welcome and would not return for it. Food was okay, furnishings were tired looking at the lounge. only thing that was nice was the lobby and decorations there, and the welcomers who at least tried to be helpful.
Unfortunately the champagne I received was flat and warm and the tea we each requested was delivered to the wrong person
Food was great / what was lacking was service. There didn't seem to be one person who was allocated to our table instead we had to keep signaling for waitstaff to come over. We had to keep asking for things ( milk for the tea, more water, napkins, spreads that were supposed to go with the scones).
Unfortunately we arrived 20 minutes late as we got lost. Once we sat down we were served straight away. I have been to a few high teas and I felt the sandwiches were ordinary. The dessert table was amazing but how much can you eat? $95.00 per person was steep for a sandwich, scones, bite size quiche and pie, coffee, tea and some bite size desserts. The atmosphere was lovely with Celo player adding to the experience but the waiter rushed us and told us we had to leave at 1.30 when I am sure I read we could relax and stay till 2. A rushed experienced would not recommend.
I wasn't certain of the pricing before sitting down to a meal. Could have checked the bill more carefully myself when it came so no major qualms. Food and drink was delicious. Exquisite atmosphere of grandeur.
Loved it. Cello player was amazing. You should go. Amazing
Wonderful afternoon tea! Great range of teas. Catered for vegetarian.
Provision of a totally gluten free afternoon tea was wonderful. Food 👌
Please let me know if I have been overcharged. I believe the cost was $58.00 per head without champagne, or $68 with a glass of champagne, which we had. I wasn't asked if we preferred a more expensive champagne, and I was charged $950.00 all up. Therefore $95.00 per head! Please send me a detailed run down of the reason for this expense. I did budget for the $68.00 per head, and as a retired person on a pension I would like to know what has happened.
Wonderful visit. Beautiful hotel. Stunning High Tea. Lovely ambience! Congrats!
Christmas High Tea was a delightful treat. Yea and food were wonderful. But the customer service could have been better. We stood at the maître de desk for what seemed like 5 whole minutes trying to catch the eye of a waitress ... and had to wave and call out ‘excuse me’ to get someone’s attention. Always followed by a ‘oh sorry’ but the dining room was not very busy...the service was just bad. We did have a booking. The staff were busy doing their own work and not attentive to any customers. This Spoilt our visit really..
We went for high tea at the Aria Bar and the food was great but the service was terrible! We had to go up to the bar and ask for knives (somehow not on our table), ask for tea (really shouldn't have to at high tea) and then go up to the bar and ask for milk for our tea - really disappointing and not what I expect.
my first high tea experience was amazing!! the service was impeccable and staff were very attentive. the atmosphere was spotless and wasn’t too noisy. the food was the most important highlight because it was delicious and it made the whole experience enjoyable!
Food excellent but service let you down terrible not impressed
I was a bit disappointed, the savoury items were warm only, the chocolate fountain was thick and not free flowing-not enjoyable. We had to ask for more tea which arrived warm then asked for a hot pot and still arrived warm. Very keen to take our plates before finishing. I have paid 2/3 of this price elsewhere and walked away very satisfied. I am very sorry this was the case as it was a long overdue catchup of which we chose The Langham out of all the Hi Teas on offer, to meet. ☹️
Lovely atmosphere Would have like more savoury options as seemed more sweet treats
The food was lovely, the venue was great. Unfortunately the service was a let down. wait for 40mins for a glass of champagne. Could not understand the waiter. The tea was extremely weak.
Great Christmas High Tea for old friends thank you all
Scone a bit dry, sandwiches some soggy, desserts too sweet
Very enjoyable. Pity I ate too much today. Oh well!
Excellent venue, service and food a perfect place to celebrate an occasion
Terrible value for money at all considering what you get!
great service, but I did feel the scones were not as fresh as I have experienced previously at Langham and the price had changed from when I booked so that was a little surprise when the bill arrived.
Fantastic food. Blissful beverages. Amazing atmosphere. Heartfelt harping. Wonderful waiters.
Food was lovely, atmosphere great until 50 people came and stood at the bar and were nudging me in the head with their elbows while I was trying to eat. Service was slow and we had to attract the attention of the waiter several times. I don’t feel like I ate $95 worth of food and drink. Had to wait for drinks, service, bill etc. Very noisy towards the end, could not hear my friend talking to me so left early, would have liked to stay longer and have a drink.
Very disappointed actually, tea was cold coffee was cold. Service was OK but not great. Not enough food for the amount of money paid, there were plenty of sweets but as far as sandwiches and savoury very poor.
Wonderful place for high tea with generous food servings beautifully presented.
Excellent high tea. Enjoyed it with my friends. Beautiful xmas selection.
It was nice. We were a bit lost as to how it all worked as no one came to see our table until 40 minutes after we sat down. Very busy on a Saturday.
Excellent service and beautiful food presented festively for Christmas. Highly recommend
Excellent service and beautiful food presented festively for Christmas. Highly recommend
Unfortunately it was not our best experience at Aria. We have been many times before and celebrated family birthdays/Xmas. The chocolate bar was fantastic but the savory food was just ok. The service was terrible and was very disappointing for such an amazing hotel. We had to ask numerous times for drink/tea/coffee etc. I doubt that we would consider returning again and risk the same experience when there are so many other options in Melbourne.
A few things: - sandwiches were going dry, clearly prepared much earlier in the day - all food delivered at the same time so scones are cold by the time we got to them - a clean set of cutlery and plates would be nice - staff need to circulate a bit more
Celebrated my birthday at the Aria with friends and family, an all girl affair. Pure luxury, Wedgwood China. Delicious savouries and sweets. Wait staff were approachable and friendly, the venue was beautifully decorated for the festive season, bonus! Highly recommended.
Amazing choc high tea, excellent service, lovely atmosphere. Would return.
We had a lovely day at the Aria lounge. We sat for an 11.30 Chocolate High Tea. The setting was beautiful, lovely music playing, decadent chocolate minis on display however it would have been a little nicer if we could have received a little more table service attention. For the cost, I would have thought staff might have been a little more attentive towards table needs. The chocolate high tea is very sweet, the extra serving of savouries came just at the right time, would have liked a little more to help even out the sweet.
Absolutely amazing Had a wonderful time Service was amazing Food was great
Very enjoyable. Would recommend to my friends. Christmas decorations were outstanding.
It was very good value for money the food and service was excellent!!!
It was a family birthday celebration and we all enjoyed it- the food, the setting and the staff were all very helpful. Thank you for helping to make my day special!
An excellent experience. Staff friendly, courteous and helpful. Food delicious. Perhaps there could be an option to have more savoury and less sweet food.
The decor, the comfortable seating, Wedgewood settings, food, teas, waiting staff were all of exceptional quality. We were looked after with excellent service and it was just what we expected.
Arrived at 11:00 am for an 11:30 High tea . Not seated until after 12. Then waitress tipped 6 glasses of sparkling wine down my friends back. At first she was only offered service tries to dry herself, until we asked for a hairdryer as no hand dryer in the toilets. Then a loose stud on the table got hooked on another friends necklace which broke. At this stage it’s 12:30 and everyone else is eating except for our group of 12. Food wasn’t great have had better high teas. Service not good . Decidedly understaffed. Not worth the money.
High Tea at the Langham was fantastic, everything presented beautifully and tasted amazing.
Table service was quite pathetic to be honest. Paid for free flowing champagne and not once did anyone come to the table to top up or offer any six people drinks, had to get up and walk to bar or hunt down a waitress anytime we wanted something. Basically paid $500 to sit at a table and eat some sandwiches and scones, over priced for poor service. I am disappointed at this experience. Girl on violin was so loud near our table it was hard to hear each other.
Lovely high tea, beautiful setting and ambience. Sitting was at 11.30, didn’t get any savoury food until 12 due to one guest with dietary requirements that they were aware of. Table could have been cleared of used plates and glasses more frequently, but overall food was amazing and company of my best friends made it a lovely couple of hours.
Food was delicious. Service was very slow, had to go and find an attendant to get some more tea. Very slow to clear table too.
