Food is salty and more unnecessary (raw) spices than what one would expect in a premium restaurant in India. Indian gourmet food can be spicy but it’s more about subtleties if flavours of spices. Spices are not chilly hot but much more. I will call it average food a bit pricy

Been here many times and the food never disappoints, the service is a bit hit and miss at times especially true of this reservation. The decor and ambience leaves a lot to be desired and it’s far from fancy but the food is tasty and I would recommend to anyone!

The food and ambience is good. Service is quick and friendly. Price is reasonable Toilets can be neater. Bookings need to be made as the place can be full. .

Absolutley LOVE Aangan West footscray. Food is seriously delicious and on point every single time we visit. We cannot fault Aangan and just wish they were closer to where we live, so we could eat there more often !

The food was alright but the service was terrible. We booked a table for 5 at 7:30pm, however even though we had reserved a table we were made to wait over 20minutes. And when we finally got a table we were seated at a table that only sat 4 people. The fifth person has to sit on a chair in the aisle near the entrance when there was not enough room. Everytime someone walked passed they knocked into the person in the aisle and it was not a pleasant experience at all. There was lots of people trying to squeeze past as it was the entrance and staff were trying to get in and out. We were not happy. If there was no room and tables available due to the dinner rush they should not have made the reservation and told us upfront that there was no capacity, that way we could have gone somewhere else or come another day. Very disappointing.

Whilst the food is good, the service is terrible. When we arrived they didn't know about our reservation, so we had to wait for a table to be found for us. After reviewing the menus & deciding what we wanted to order we waited a long time without anyone coming to take our order. We finally asked a waiter to take our order. Our entree came fairly quickly but we were asked whether we also wanted our main course at the same time, which we declined. They didn't seem to understand the meaning of an entree & decided to cook all the dishes at the same time. As a general point we consider that the decor of the restaurant needs refreshing. It appears that it hasn't been decorated for a long time and the appearance is poor. On leaving the restaurant we advised the staff that we were not satisfied with the service. They were upset with this - what appeared to be the manager followed us out and we had a discussion with her explaining the reasons why we weren't satisfied. We won't return.

Even with pre booking, we still had to wait in normal queue. The people after us got first just because they knew them. Food was good but expensive compared to quantity. Staff service for taking order and serving food was excellent, they were just fabulous in terms of suggestions and advice on what we should try.

Excellent food. Service was a little inconsistent; waited a while for main courses to arrive. However, absolutely delicious when it did. It was extremely busy & at the end of the Christmas season so understandable. I recommend booking as the restaurant is always busy. A very satisfying evening...

overall the food taste grate, apart from serving and seating noise

We ordered and wait for 45 mins before the food comes out. We have to ask twice for them to bring the food out. Only 2 staffs for 1 section of the restaurant which cater for 60 people. I think the food is nice. But by the time we waited. We cannot comment on the food. Service is not there. The staff is working under pressure. Owner should consider to put more staff on.

The best Indian we have had in the West. Would be good not to have the main meal arrive whilst still eating the entree however.

Food was really good. I would say best in Melbourne. But not given 6 rating as the service was really slow and need to follow up for every order

Customer service was great, did not have to wait very long for the food to be served. Staff were friendly and overall the food was delicious.

Very very slow service and Food was crap. I will highly recommend not to waste your money and time. Even street food truck nowadays are better than Angan.

All good exept that when we arrived they were not aware of our booking so we had to wait to be seated. Food delicious but we had to dig to find the meet.

Amazing food and service. We had the banquet menu, great value for money and so much delicious food that we could choose of our own liking. They even offered to refill! Couldn’t recommend anymore.

As always, the food and service are excellent at this restaurant. Especially the samosa chat and tawa vegetables. Bring on summer to sit outside as well. Thanks again.

Great restaurant with great food. Some of the best Indian I’ve had. There’s a reason it’s busy, even on Mondays. Have eaten takeaway from here too and no complaints. Highly recommend.

Amazing food with a large range. Prompt and friendly service. Very busy on a Friday night so maybe book ahead. Try Aangan and enjoy the spice!

Derrimut Aangan is a much nicer restaurant - ambience, food and service wise. Would be helpful if the staff acknowledged that there was a booking under my name for my guests. Also, they wanted to take the food away before we were finished. Lastly, a smile on the face doesn't hurt.

The staff was very friendly. The food was amazing, very tasty and delicious. The cost was value for money. I would highly recommend Aangan to any body.

We were there with some of my Aussie friends from work. Chats and Entrees were really good. But mains were a bit let down. For the premium price they charge, we got over cooked, broken saffron rice (not sure if they used basmati), $6 butter naan breads were not flaky at all, as they claim to be. Dal makhani and Palak Paneer was very blend and full of cream. I have tasted better food at Aangan, please bring that back.

Great indian with authentic dishes not found in many indian restaurants with great flavours, fantastic service and very reasonable prices. Best we've had by far.A great experience

Well worth the trip. Staff needed to be a bit more cheerful, but the food as usual was fantastic. Always order a samosa chat at a minimum!

Taste of all dishes are there at all and Dosa provided was cold and not crispy. Masala tea provided again cold. Needs to improve a lot

Wasnt as good as i remembered. It had been sometime since i had last visited. had no real warmth or ambience, felt more like a takeaway store than any kind of restaurant, too many people coming in and out. Food was ok, didnt set the world on fire thats for sure.

Good quality, plenty of quantity, service a bit slow but could be due to popularity. Good value, good selection and well spiced. Don’t let appearance put you off!
