Went to have birthday dinner with friends on a Saturday evening, the ambience was nice, tables spaced out and noise level very reasonable. 2 out of the 5 dishes were exceptionally nice - the beef fillet with veggies and the salted egg squid nicely done. Beef fillet tender and nicely flavoured. The salted egg squid just yummy, a bit different to the usual squid tentacles. The salted pepper tofu didnt have much taste, the pork chop dish was disappointed - sauce was not nice and no flavour, the spring onion chicken was very bland. A nice surprise was when the waiter brought in a birthday card and a happy birthday ice cream for me, that was a really nice touch.

We thoroughly enjoyed the dinner experience last Sunday for my husband’s birthday. We ordered braised pork belly with preserved vegetables - the braised pork melted in my mouth and the preserved vegetable were just spot on.

Ordered the fresh barramundi fish cooked with spring onion and soya sauce, prawn salted egg yolk, Chinese New Year raw fish, crispy chicken. All of them were good. However they missed the dessert we ordered, which was the red bean pancakes. Maybe it was too busy that night. Overall was good.

The pricing was quite ridiculous. Lobster with e-fu mee cost us 272 dollars. I understand that it is MP but it seemed a bit too excessive. The service was ok. Some of the staff kept having confusion between our table and the table next to us resulting in an awkward situation at times throughout the night.

Food was excellent and so is the restaurant . Service not quite as good as previously. Table next to us with 3 Asian kids running wild and screaming for 2 hours. No control or interest from the parents. They should have gone to MacDonalds instead of 8 on the Point !

Service was very slow. Food very good when it arrived. The air conditioning was so cold we couldn't wait to leave.

service is good despite my order for glutinous rice being misplaced and having to re-order twice. they were very busy so needed some prompting to top up water. food quality is good and did not disappoint

The location is beautiful, however we were in the back corner of the restaurant and there were plenty of tables in a nicer area of the restaurant. The staff were not very friendly or engaging, the dishes were not presented very well, there were no accompanying sauces provided, the food was over priced for what you got. They did not refill our waters or ask if we wanted any more drinks. We were not made to feel welcome at all and will not be going again.

Service was good. Our last time visit was very good and our expectations for fathers day dinner with family and friends was high thinking the standards will be the same but unfortunately, it felt like another asian joint in Victoria Park strip. Worst of all was when we came home and checked our bill we were charged for a Jug of Sparkling and still water each. Also for a coke which was ordered by our adjacent table. Sorry to say but for such a well respected and above average market establishment this kind of billing/financial error is a disgrace, charging customers for someone else food. I hope you guys share this review with the restaurant management . Will I ever go back hummmm may be for lunches for dim sim as we still love the location. Regards Sharat

Ordered some steamed abalone with prawns for Dimsum. The glutinous rice balls were good. The steamed Dimsum here is good. Service was a bit slow though. Perhaps could improve the service. Will be back.

Food was great except for the desert. Mango pudding was real disappointment. 8 on The Point is meant to be a fine dining restaurant, however the desert was on par with a casual bistro style of establishment. Pudding from mould topped with a cream from a spray can.... not impressed! We’ve ordered one desert to share and received two... We’ve ordered a glass of desert wine for my wife and received a bottle for both of us... To summarize: It was OK, but our experience did not left us feel like we want to be back

Amazing authentic Chinese food. Very fresh seafood. ToothFish and soft shell crab. Peking duck was also very tender. Service and atmosphere was amazing. Definitely highly recommended
